With over 35 years of supplying quality consumables across Australia, we have evolved to become the company we are today thanks to the help of our customers and partners who continue to support us throughout these decades. Livingstone is committed to sharing our success by giving back to the community in much-needed areas through environmental incentives, indigenous reconciliation, ethical sourcing, diversity and inclusivity.
Compliance
At Livingstone, we ensure strict compliance for all business practices following our six pillars:
Quality & Assurance
At Livingstone, one of our main goals is to provide quality products at a competitive price. Throughout the years, our supply chain has constantly improved and updated to ensure that we are providing our customers with assurance over the quality of our products. We pride ourselves on ensuring third-party quality testing is performed prior to any shipment of all products to ensure we meet and exceed Australian, American and European standards. Our medical items are ARTG Certified and food items are HACCP Certified.
We are also an accredited Australian Trusted Partner which is a partnership between Australian businesses and the Australian Government to streamline legitimate trade. Livingstone meets and exceeds both international and domestic supply chain security as well as trade compliance standards and practices.
Ethical Sourcing
Livingstone is a proud member of Sedex, a global membership used to manage labour rights, health and safety, the environment and business ethics. At Livingstone, we ensure to put an emphasis on the importance of behaviour and morals with all our suppliers and factories before we go into business with them. Our main focus of managing our connections with new and existing suppliers and manufacturers is ensuring they share our commitments to social and environmental responsibilities.
Environmental Initiatives
Livingstone practices environmental initiatives within our offices and warehouses and as a result, we have been awarded Environmental Management System Certification ISO 14001:2015 which is the international standard that specifies requirements for an effective environmental management system within workplaces. We are working hard with our suppliers and partners to create and provide a wide range of eco-friendly and sustainable alternatives to your everyday products.
Diversity & Inclusivity
At Livingstone, we believe that everyone deserves the right to equal opportunities. We recognise the importance of diversity and inclusivity in our workforce and are committed to embracing a company culture that reflects that. We celebrate and encourage inclusion and diversity in all its forms regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion, disability and sexuality.
We have partnered with not-for-profit organisations that open doors for the disabled, Indigenous businesses and communities as well as social ventures so that we can continue to promote diversity throughout our supply chain and within our business.
Livingstone has partnered with Indigenous-owned and Supply Nation Certified company Accelerate. Accelerate is based in Bidjigal and Gadigal land. Accelerate delivers Injury Management services to efficiently and effectively help injured workers return safely back to work. With this partnership, Accelerate can further its offering to provide disposable consumables to businesses and continue to provide education, employment and mentorships to Indigenous individuals and communities.
We are proud to announce our Indigenous brands Miyan and Duga that in hand will endorse our intentions of supporting Indigenous communities, projects, employment and key initiatives. We worked closely with Indigenous artists Jason Douglas & Trevor Eastwood from Dalmarri in creating artwork for the packaging. Through our collaboration with Dalmarri, we were able to contribute to their movement in providing education and awareness to schools, corporations and individuals across Australia through art and further employment for Indigenous peoples.
Gender Equality
At Livingstone, we believe that all employees deserve the right to equal opportunities. We recognise the importance of gender equality in our workforce and are committed to embracing a company culture that reflects that.
Our partners and suppliers are given the code of conduct and are required to provide safe working conditions, to treat women and everyone fairly and ethically. Livingstone requires its supplier to operate in accordance with the supplier’s code of conduct with compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
Livingstone encourages equal opportunities and pays in all roles in our workplace to support growth, stability and empowerment despite your gender or sexuality. Livingstone aims to maintain 45% to 55% of female leadership and representation in senior leadership roles. With an increase in domestic violence cases, physical or sexual violence, Livingstone has implemented a Domestic Violence initiative, to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all staff members.
This entails unpaid leave for anyone experiencing violent, threatening or other abusive behaviour and seeks to coerce, control or cause harm or fear. The leave is taken to ensure arrangements are made for the safety of the individual and/or their family members, attend court hearings or access police services. Support and confidentiality is provided and guaranteed. The safety and well-being of all employees is paramount to Livingstone.
Climate Change
Livingstone recognises the importance of reducing our carbon footprint in all aspects of business, from our offices, to our dispatch facilities and with our suppliers and factories. Reducing our carbon footprint mitigates the effects of global climate change improves public health, boosts the global economy and maintains biodiversity.
We have introduced environmentally friendly packaging and expanding new eco-friendly product ranges. We have begun to implement this through our supply chain, consolidating our orders to minimise gas emissions.
In our offices and warehouse facilities we have introduced energy-efficient lighting, fuel-efficient vehicles and recycling programs. Our warehouses are now undergoing paperless orders. We will continue to improve our business practices to have a zero carbon footprint in the coming years.
