As an Australian-owned company, we are passionate about developing key initiatives supporting and providing opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, their communities and businesses.
We worked closely with Aboriginal artists Jason Douglas and Trevor Eastwood from Dalmarri on the packaging, creating artwork that reflected Livingstone's core values.
Duga means to give or to supply.
The artwork illustrates Livingstone International's many layers. Since its beginnings, it has provided healthcare products to all communities through research, knowledge, and development.
In the heart of our story, the central, small dots symbolise growth and prosperity emerging from our commitment to healthcare, depicted by the larger white dots.
Circling this narrative are 'U'-shaped symbols that signify our connection to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, elders, and families. These shapes resonate with our dedication to honouring their wisdom and heritage.
Beyond these symbols lie smaller outer circles, representing Livingstone's meeting grounds. Here, we continuously strive to elevate the quality of life and standards in outer regional areas, enriching the lives of our communities. This journey shapes our ongoing commitment to progress and inclusivity.
The large light and dark green dots are walking tracks, now roads and pathways that connect Livingstone International to provide and supply these products to improve the health of all communities.
Miyan means together to provide and care for one another.
The artwork's story represents the centre meeting place, the spiritual home, and the half U's symbolise elders who yarn and talk over important decisions.
The layers and lines represent all the barriers Livingstone International has worked through to provide continuous support and improve the health of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. The blue lines represent the contours and terrains of the country, allowing safe passage into those areas in need.
The coloured dots represent the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples benefiting from Livingstone International, and receiving the care they need. The wavy lines and black dots are the journeys Livingstone International takes to provide this service to the community.
Through these artworks, Livingstone International expresses its dedication to the health and well-being of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. “Duga” and “Miyan” are deeply woven into our company's history, showing where we've come from and our dedication to ensuring a bright future for all Australians.
Livingstone International acknowledges the Traditional Owners of Country throughout Australia on which we operate and acknowledges their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to the people, the cultures and the Elders past and present.
